SJRA claims they wanted to cut stumps to improve boater safety. If you watch the live branch video you will see they have created a bigger safety hazard.. Let me guess, they will now need to cut stumps to improve safety.... Everyone knows governments have to do things at least twice and spend twice as much to achieve the desired results...
It was a pretty rough day. I was very hopeful that things might turn out a little better than they did. Once we saw that huge rebar stump up north was gone I knew that was a false hope. That was a major landmark for us. Something that we can never get back. It was almost as bad when we got to Live Branh and called CT for some directions and still could not find stumps, then called Scooter to confirm we were in the right place. Scooter was saying "You can't miss them". Well we missed them because almost every piece of standing timber is gone. I hope everyone puts pressure on TPWD and SJRA to punish the responsible parties.
